Insurance Industry getting more “comfortable” with Oilheat NORA has been diligently working to bridge the gap between the Oilheat Retailers and Insurance Agents on their concerns with tanks. “NORA has established a strong working relationship with insurance companies, and developed a Roadmap for Good Practices”, stated John Huber, NORA’s President. This roadmap has three categories: Release Prevention, Release Detection, and Corrective Action. In the past, the Insurance Industry was only involved when a fuel storage tank failed. NORA has created new and updated material to demonstrate that our technicians are highly qualified and informed about tank issues, and take appropriate preventive actions. Release Prevention starts in the field with technicians and drivers committed to good practices. NORA has developed training courses, videos, posters, and text books to educate our industry on new advances and reinforce skills to properly install and maintenance tanks. NORA’s products to improve performance in the field and reduce releases are listed below. · Advanced Tank Education Program: The program is appropriate for all Oilheat personnel, drivers, and anyone responsible for tank installation & maintenance.
